Item #624: Understanding Crisis Standards of Care
When a large scale event impacts and overwhelms the ability of the health care system to provide our routine standard of care, it may result in the implementation of crisis standards of care. During such times the focus (and outcomes) of care changes significantly. This is exactly what has occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic. This recorded educational program will serve as a primer on Crisis Standards of Care and the impact it has on providers, organizations and patients/clients. It will also give organizations guidance on planning, mitigating and responding to such difficult situations.
Length of Program: 60 minutes
