WEBCAST ORDERS – EXPIRATION TERMS (1 YEAR or UNTIL THE INFORMATION IS NO LONGER CURRENT) UNLIMITED online staff access for 1 year.

Item #710: ICE, I-9s, Audits and Compliance

Webcast – Originally Recorded on 3/18/2026

Federal law requires that every employer who recruits, refers for a fee, or hires an individual for employment in the U.S. must complete Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification. The U.S Citizenship and Immigration Services oversees the I-9 process. While the I-9 is the most used government form, the information does not go necessarily go into a central data bank. Some employers use E-Verify, third party companies, or complete the I-9s internally.

In 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) significantly ramped up I-9 administrative reviews and audits, with a renewed focus on strict workplace enforcement and substantially higher penalties.

Maybe it is time for an I-9 audit?

Join us for a lively discussion on I-9s, audits, ICE and compliance. You will understand the vital importance, more now than ever, of proper documentation.

Attendees will be able to:

– List key documentation errors on the I-9

– Identify errors employers can and cannot change

– Describe the ICE I-9 administrative review process

Length of Program: Approx. 60 minutes

Violence in the workplace continues to escalate for health care workers. This is includes home care and hospice settings as well. Community care providers have seen an increase in violent experiences with guns in the home, drugs, racism, public transportation, sexual harassment and sexual assault. In addition, civil unrest and gun violence on the streets have increased dramatically since 2020 when the pandemic first began. This session will address the four levels of violence, levels of situational awareness, and strategies to increase safety.

Healthcare workers have a greater risk and exposure to infections. Those that work in the homecare and hospice industry have an even higher risk as they work in uncontrolled environments such as the homes of patients and their families. This session, for paraprofessionals, focuses on the six components of the chain of infection and the best practices that contribute to breaking the chain of infection. This is a great back to basics course or as an introductory course for new paraprofessionals.

Violence in the Workplace continues to escalate for health care workers. This includes home care and hospice settings as well. Community care providers have seen an increase in violent experiences with guns in the home, drugs, racism, public transportation, sexual harassment and sexual assault. In addition, civil unrest and gun violence on the streets have increased dramatically since 2020.

This session will expand upon, and highlight, the role agencies play in developing a work prevention plan for violence in the workplace as well as developing education for staff on self protection.
