This 30-minute instructional DVD is designed to assist the home care professional to do just that. Topics discussed include: the chain of infection, universal precautions, including selection of personal protective equipment, engineering and work practice controls (hand washing, bag technique, emergency needle recapping, disinfection and sterilization, and use of spill kits), and supervision of paraprofessional personnel. Violence in the Workplace Handbook

While OSHA has issued guidelines only about prevention of workplace violence, it is important to know and understand these guidelines. Agencies/employers can be cited for violation if there is a recognized hazard of workplace violence in their business and they have not taken steps to prevent or lessen it.
